Scrappy Bargello finished!

I’ve been working through some of my unfinished objects (fondly known as UFOs) and came across a quilt top that I finished years ago. Time to quilt it up. So I did.

This is a very simple quilt to make thanks to Bonnie Hunter’s excellent instructions. I quilted it very simply using wavy lines roughly following the wave of the bargello. I had hoped that it would reduce my scrap pile a bit, but no such luck. I have enough scraps cut to make several more.

I think that I made my strips one block wider than Bonnie’s instructions, so that my quilt is just a bit wider. I remember that the length got unwieldy as I was cutting the strips and that sewing long narrow strips with lots of cross pieces was a bit tedious. Overall, though, I’m quite pleased with how this quilt turned out.

I bound this with an ombre fabric and I quite like the effect.
